In February 1998, a remarkable event captivated the world's attention as humanity took its first tangible step towards establishing a permanent presence in outer space. On February 20th, the space shuttle Endeavour embarked on an audacious mission, carrying the first module of what would eventually become the International Space Station (ISS).
