BELL & ROSS BR 05 SKELETON BLUE: STEEL SPORTS WATCH GETS MORE ELEGANCE

BELL ROSS BR 05 SKELETON BLUE: STEEL SPORTS WATCH GETS MORE ELEGANCE

Fifteen years ago, Bell Ross launched the BR 01, a replica luxury watches with a round dial in a square case, inspired by an airplane cockpit. Since then, the concept has gone through several iterations, but always with the motto of "instrument for professionals". It was only last year that Bell Ross finally stepped out of that shell and launched a brand new watch design that aims to capture a part of the luxury sports watch market - the BR 05.

To be fair, this watch is still a variation of the "round in a square", but with a touch of elegance. The edges of the case are softened, the dial has a beautiful sunray effect, and it comes with hour markers and a very gorgeous bracelet. I had the opportunity to go hands-on with the BR 05 last year, and you can read my first impressions of it here. Today, however, I'm going to talk about the limited edition Skeleton Blue of the BR 05.

Before we get started, let's take a look at the replica swiss watch itself. I had the pleasure of wearing the BR 05 Skeleton Blue (with a rubber strap) on my wrist for about a week and have absolutely fallen in love with this watch. The watch is 40mm wide with arched lugs that make it very comfortable to wear. So much so that sometimes I actually forget I am wearing it.

The case of the BR 05 is minimalist but very detailed. The alternating finishes of straight brushed and polished surfaces catch the light in interesting ways. Since the case has a stepped structure, from the bezel to the middle case to the lugs, this gives the watch more angles for light to reflect. Then you gaze at the dial, and the slanted look of the outer part of the dial draws you in, revealing the transparent blue dial and the skeletonized movement underneath.

The dial is another beautiful element of the BR 05 Skeleton Blue. Instead of the 12, 6, and 9 of the standard BR 05, this watch has baton hour markers. Bell Ross also decided to remove the date function as I expected it would obscure the view of the skeletonized movement. To me, this is better for the visual symmetry of the dial and also reflects a purer, more purposeful design. No date window here to cater to the masses, just a watch designed to tell the time. high quality watches replica

As for the skeletonization of the BR-CAL.322 movement, they didn’t take a whole lot away from the movement. Some parts of the baseplate have been removed to reveal the barrel and balance wheel, but don’t expect to see the entire back as most of it is still blocked by parts. This visual obstruction also extends to the caseback, where Bell Ross decided to use a blued, full-circle winding rotor. I feel like a half-rotor would have been better and would have shown more of the interesting movement underneath.

Firstly, you’ll be one of a thousand people to own this Bell Ross design. Secondly, you’ll get a more visually stimulating dial with traces of the balance wheel swinging visible on the back of the watch. Personally, I really like the layout of this limited edition with its stick-shaped applique hour markers and no date window.
