Victor Wembanyama impresses with his potential to captivate the crowd in the heat races

Whenever Victor Wimbanyama steps on a basketball court, his 7-foot-4 frame impresses. The very fact that the French rookie is warming up as the San Antonio Spurs prepare to take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday has attracted a large crowd.

Clippers reporters have been watching Vin Banyama ever since he picked up a basketball. Mirjam Swanson noticed a crowd surrounding Vin Banyama when he was on the court.

Swanson posted on the social media platform X, "Crowds like Stephen were at the baseline watching Victor Wimbanyama warm up. I guess we can all say we saw an alien now."

Sports Illustrated reporter Farbod Esnashari also traveled to the Vumbanyama neighborhood to get a feel for the basketball court before the game against the Clippers. He marveled at the length of the 2023 NBA draft.

"Victor Wimbanyama barely had to jump up to dunk. It looks crazy," Esnasary said.

Other reporters, such as Tomer Azarly of Clutchpoints and Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times, also caught Winebanyama's warmups.

Winbanyama's first two regular season games

Victor Wambanyama's first two regular season games with the San Antonio Spurs have been a mixed bag. They lost 126-119 to Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks in their first game, but beat the Rockets 126-122 in overtime.

Vin Banyama only played 23 minutes against the Mavs due to foul trouble, but ended the game strong. In the next game against the Rockets, he realized his true potential with 21 points, 12 rebounds, 3 caps and 3 steals.

Through two games, Vimbanyama is contributing 18.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.0 caps per game. He also shot 46 percent from the field and made three three-pointers. There's no denying that getting off to a bad start was a weakness for Winebarnama, and he hopes to improve on that.

"In my life, I prefer the end (of a game) because I feel better. But I have to do better before. That's one of the things I need to improve on: playing hard from the beginning," Winbanama said.

Next game.

After the game against the Los Angeles Clippers, the San Antonio Spurs will play two games against the Phoenix Suns from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 in Arizona. Venbanyama will face a tough test in Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.
